My name is Adrian Woodley, I am a lifetime naturalist, I have a teaching qualification working with schools & community. In 1978 I completed a guiding qualification in Dorset qualifying me to guide anywhere in the UK. However I mainly covered the south of England & London. Tours varied from the cathedral cities to coastal excursions. The London tours covered historical landmarks & build heritage, those days there were no computers or mobile phones & I used archives and books to build my knowledge. On moving to Northern Ireland I embarked on a civil service career however I always maintained my passion for the environment & travelled the country gaining knowledge through courses and working with local guides and teachers, learning about the heritage, history, folklore & habitat as well as physically walking & visiting hundreds of sites. In 2005 I resumed guiding and walking tours mainly in the Belfast, County Down & Mourne areas these range from coastal walks, Mourne mountain excursions & nature based activities, incorporating on occasions historical and heritage themes. I guided for several seasons as a tour guide for various coach companies primarily touring the Antrim coast, Glens & Belfast. I generally offer the walking tours in the County Down area primarily. I have spent some time guiding for the Ulster Wildlife trust, Woodland trust & working for Queens University surveying biodiversity across Northern Ireland, I spent 8 years as a ranger in a country park where I spent a lot of time taking nature based tours around the park for both children & adults a like.
