Training

Tour Guides NI are working in partnership with Belfast Metropolitan College who have been delivering Tour Guide training for 15 years and are currently in the process of developing a Level 4 Guiding qualification in conjunction with the University of Ulster and endorsed by Tourism NI.

The OCN NI Level 2 Award is going strong throughout Northern Ireland with groups qualified in Greater Belfast,   The Mournes, The Glens and The Sperrins.  Many of those qualified were already guiding in some capacity and some have developed their own tours and small businesses.

The next Level 2 course will be advertised by the Lough Neagh Landscape Partnership in the coming week or two so watch out for that.  Belfast Met will be running a Level 2 in September 2017, check their website for details. The OCN NI Level 3 Certificate has just been approved and will be available for registration by early April 2017.  Belfast Met will be running this course in September 2017. Check the website for details. Watch out for Level 3 courses in local areas as Councils and Landscape Partnerships may well run these.
