Derrie Danders Walking and Audio Tours

I formed the business in October 2018, to share my passion for local history to visitors and locals to my home city of Derry/Londonderry. I offer politically neutral and historically accurate walking tours of the city, and encourage visitors to linger longer in Londonderry and enjoy a dander around Derry.

My focus is on small group and custom designed tours, and although I can offer a more standard product that walks visitors around the famous 400 Year old Walls of Derry, and the Bogside Murals, my focus is on alternative history.

This includes a tour of the Blue Plaques of the Maiden City, focussing not just on the places, but also the fascinating history of the people named on the plaques.

I also have a dedicated tour focussing on the Shirt Factories Heritage, which was so important in my citys economic and industry history.

Also I have a music themed tour, paying tribute to the multitude of musical performers and songwriters from the city.

I also have tours that cover the Ulster Scots/Scots Irish connections in the city, possibly of interest to North Americans exploring their genealogical roots in Ulster.

I also plan to have tour options available at the Downhill estate in the future.

Finally I have a range of low cost self-guided audio tours on the Voice Map App platform for visitors that prefer the flexibility of these sorts of tours.
